When you were born, every planet stood at one exact point in the sky. Somewhere on Earth it was directly overhead. Somewhere else it was directly underfoot, and along two curves it was rising or setting.
Join those places up and each planet leaves four lines across the globe. The astrologer Jim Lewis mapped them this way in the 1970s and called the method Astro*Carto*Graphy. Living or working near a line is said to bring that planet's themes forward in your life.

Look at the lines near each city
Lines within a few hundred kilometres count most. Jupiter, Venus, Sun and Moon lines are usually supportive. Saturn, Mars, Rahu and Ketu lines ask more of you.

What a map cannot tell you.
It depends on your birth time. A four-minute error moves the MC and IC lines about 111 km. If your time is a guess, treat the lines as broad bands.
It shows tendencies, not outcomes. A good line does not replace a job offer, a visa or a cost-of-living check. Weigh those first.
Your chart still applies everywhere. Moving changes which planets are emphasised. It does not give you a different birth chart.
